The MMX Elite Series Panel Air Filter for the BMW S63 is a premium tri-foam direct OE replacement for the 4.4 litre twin-turbo V8 fitted to the F10 M5 and F12/F13 M6. It fits the factory airboxes with no modification and applies motorsport filtration technology to an engine that moves a serious volume of air.
A Large V8 Asks A Lot Of Its Filters
The S63 is a 4.4 litre twin-turbo V8 producing well over 550bhp as standard, and considerably more once tuned. That level of airflow puts a paper panel filter under real strain, and restriction builds as the element loads. The tri-foam construction grades filtration through three depths of open-cell foam, spreading the dirt load and maintaining flow between services.
Road And Competition Use
The Elite Series element is designed to be equally at home in a daily-driven M5 and in a car used regularly on track. The filtration quality protects the turbochargers, while the improved flow suits a tuned engine that already asks more of the intake than BMW intended.
