The BMW M8 was built from 2019 to 2025 as the F91 Convertible, F92 Coupe and F93 Gran Coupe. It uses the same S63 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 as the F90 M5, producing 600 PS and 750 Nm, or 625 PS in M8 Competition form, with an eight-speed M Steptronic gearbox and M xDrive all-wheel drive that can run in rear-wheel-drive mode. It combines grand touring comfort with genuine M performance, and much of its hardware is shared with the M5.
For sound, an Akrapovic exhaust gives the V8 a richer, more refined note, and Eventuri carbon intakes add induction sound and a cleaner engine bay. The S63 responds strongly to software from established tuners, though many later DMEs need a bench unlock first. Supporting upgrades such as VP Racing fuel and Funk Motorsport components suit cars running more power.
The M8 is a heavy car, so brake pads and fluid are worthwhile upgrades for fast road and track use, with EBC options for standard M compound brakes. KW and AST springs lower the car while working with the adaptive dampers. Carbon is where the M8 really comes alive: MHC PLUS and SooQoo carbon spoilers and rear diffusers, SHFT paddle shifters and MMX interior details give each body style a sharper, more bespoke look.
