BC Racing Coilovers For BMW
BC Racing UK has spent more than a decade perfecting the most affordable, most customisable and most genuinely usable coilover suspension on the market — and BMW is where that work shows best. From an E46 or E9x M3 to an F80 M3, F82 M4 or F87 M2, right through to the latest G8x, there is a BC kit developed for your chassis with ride height, damping and spring rates you control.
Every kit below is supplied by R44 Performance with expert BMW fitment advice, custom spring rates on request and full spares support.
Coilover series
Eight Series. One Right Answer For Your BMW.
Every BC Racing kit shares the same foundations — monotube dampers, ride height that adjusts independently of spring preload, and custom spring rates on request. What separates the series is how far you want to take damping control, heat management and unsprung weight.

Shared engineering
What Every BC Racing Kit Has In Common
Whichever series you choose, the fundamentals are the same: monotube dampers, independent height adjustment, serviceable internals and spring rates that can be built around your BMW rather than a generic application.
Monotube Damper Design
A single high-pressure tube with a large piston — more oil, better heat control and more consistent damping than twin-tube designs.
30 Levels Of Damping
From a single 30-way adjuster on V1 and BR up to full 3-way low and high speed control on the ZR and ZX Series.
Height Independent Of Preload
Set your ride height without winding preload into the spring, so you keep the suspension travel and ride quality you paid for.
Camber-Adjustable Top Mounts
Pillowball top mounts with camber adjustment on most BMW applications — useful for front-end grip and even tyre wear.
Custom Spring Rates
Rates and matched damper valving built to order for track cars, wide wheel setups or tight fender-to-lip fitment.
Serviceable & Rebuildable
Every part is available as a spare with low lead times, so a kit can be refreshed and re-valved rather than replaced.
1-Year Manufacturer Warranty
On every BC Racing kit
Custom Spring Rates
Built to order, 2–3 week lead time
Full Spares Support
Every part available, low lead times

BC Racing x R44 Performance
A Decade Of Making Coilovers Make Sense
BC Racing UK has spent more than ten years refining a single idea: a properly engineered coilover should be affordable, genuinely comfortable when you want it to be, and completely customisable when you do not. Rather than one compromise kit, that has grown into eight distinct series — each with its own damping philosophy — plus a spring rate and valving service that lets any of them be built around a specific car.
R44 Performance supplies the full BC Racing range as BMW specialists. We will tell you which series actually suits your chassis, your wheel and tyre setup and how you really use the car, backed by fast UK and worldwide shipping, full spares support and technical help after the sale.

BC Racing Coilover FAQs
Which BC Racing series should I choose for my BMW?+
For a daily-driven BMW that still needs to be comfortable, start with the V1 or BR Series — BR is the one most of our customers choose. If you do regular track days, DS and RM add digressive valving and better heat control. For serious track use, ER and HM give you separate compression and rebound adjustment, while ZR and ZX are full 3-way motorsport dampers. Unsure? Send us your chassis code and how you use the car and we will spec it for you.
How much lower will my BMW sit?+
A standard kit sits roughly 25mm below OEM ride height at its highest setting and around 60–75mm below OEM at its lowest. An Extra Low kit starts at approximately 50mm below OEM and can reach around 100mm below. Because ride height adjusts independently of spring preload, you are not sacrificing suspension travel to get the stance.
What is an Extra Low kit, and do I need one?+
Extra Low kits use shorter springs, shorter dampers or both to give roughly 20–25mm more drop than a standard kit, sometimes with stiffer rates to suit. Most BMW owners do not need one — a standard kit already has plenty of adjustment. They are worth considering for an aggressive wheel and tyre setup or a show-level stance. If the option is not listed on the product, contact us and we will check whether it is viable for your chassis.
How much stiffer are they than standard BMW suspension?+
As a guide, BC's recommended kits use springs around 15–20% stiffer than OEM and damper valving around 20–30% stiffer. On a BMW that means noticeably better body control while staying usable on UK roads — and because damping is adjustable across 30 levels, you can soften it for the commute and firm it up for a track day.
Should I order custom spring rates?+
Usually not on your first kit. The standard rates are developed for the specific chassis and suit most road and fast-road BMWs. Custom rates make sense for track-only cars, cars on large low-treadwear tyres, or where you need a tighter fender-to-lip fit. Custom kits are built to order with matched valving and take around 2–3 weeks. As a rule you can move about 2kg up or down from standard before the valving needs changing too.
Do the kits include everything I need?+
Every kit includes four coilovers. Top mounts depend on the series and the chassis — some BMW applications reuse the OEM mounts, others are supplied with aluminium or camber-adjustable pillowball mounts. Drop links are included wherever the kit requires them; if they are not in the box, the OEM links are correct. Ask us before ordering and we will confirm exactly what is included for your car.
My E36, E46, Z3 or Z4 — what is on-centre and off-centre?+
Those chassis were built with two different top plate designs and the kits are not interchangeable, so you need to know which your car has before ordering. Camber and caster plates are available for both. Send us a photo of your top mounts if you are not certain and we will confirm it for you.
Do I need an alignment after fitting?+
Yes. Changing ride height changes your alignment, so a full geometry setup is essential. We would recommend letting the suspension settle for about a week of normal driving first, then having the alignment done. Corner balancing is worthwhile for a car that sees heavy track use but is not necessary for a daily driver or show car.
Are BC Racing coilovers suitable for track use?+
Yes — every series is developed with track use in mind, and the road-oriented kits are tuned as a happy medium between street and circuit. For a dedicated track or race BMW, look at DS, RM, ER, HM, ZR or ZX, which add digressive valving, external reservoirs and multi-way adjustment.
What is the warranty, and how quickly can I get a kit?+
Every BC Racing kit carries a 1-year manufacturer warranty, and every part is available as a spare with low lead times, so a kit can be serviced or rebuilt rather than replaced. In-stock kits typically leave within 1–2 working days; custom-built kits take approximately 2–3 weeks. If you need a delivery date before ordering, just ask.
BC Racing Coilovers For BMW — V1, BR, DS, RM, ER, HM, ZR & ZX Series
BC Racing coilovers give BMW owners full control over ride height, damping and spring rate on a single platform. Every kit is built around a monotube damper with ride height adjustment that is independent of spring preload, so you can set the stance you want without winding preload into the spring and losing suspension travel.
The range runs from the comfort-focused V1 Series and the best-selling BR Series, through the track-biased DS and inverted-damper RM Series, up to the twin-adjustable ER and HM Series and the three-way ZR and ZX motorsport dampers. Applications cover the BMW range broadly — from the E36, E46 and E9x, through F2x, F3x and F8x, to the current G-chassis cars.
Which coilover is right for a road-driven BMW?
For a car that is driven daily and enjoyed at weekends, the BR Series remains the sensible default. Springs around 15–20% stiffer than OEM with 30 levels of damping adjustment mean you can run a comfortable setting for commuting and firm the car up for a spirited drive or a track day. The V1 Series sits slightly softer again for owners who prioritise ride comfort.
Which coilover is right for a track or race BMW?
Once the car sees regular circuit use, damper heat and body control become the limiting factors. The DS and RM Series introduce digressive valving and, on RM, an inverted damper body that lowers unsprung weight and keeps oil away from brake heat. ER and HM add external reservoirs with separate compression and rebound adjustment, while ZR and ZX offer full three-way control with low and high speed compression split out — the setup used for club racing and competition drifting.
All BC Racing kits supplied by R44 Performance carry a 1-year manufacturer warranty, full spares availability and the option of custom spring rates with matched valving.
