The MMX Elite Series Panel Air Filter for the BMW N55 is a premium tri-foam direct OE replacement covering the single-turbo 3.0 litre N55 across the F Series range. It fits the factory airbox with no modification and brings motorsport filtration technology to a part most owners replace with a supermarket paper element.
Three Layers, Not One
A tri-foam element grades its filtration through three layers of open-cell foam, capturing coarse debris at the surface and progressively finer particles deeper inside. Loading the dirt through the depth rather than across the face means the filter keeps flowing as it gets dirty, where a paper element restricts steadily from the day it is fitted.
Sensible For A Tuned N55
The N55 is one of the most commonly tuned BMW engines, and a Stage 1 or Stage 2 map puts noticeably more air through the intake. The Elite Series filter is designed for sustained high-load use while retaining the filtration quality a turbocharged engine needs. It works equally well on a standard car looking for a long-life replacement.

Will this fit an F87 M2 Competition?
No. The M2 Competition uses the S55 engine, which takes a different filter. This element is for the N55-powered F87 M2.
Does it require any modification to fit?
No. It is a direct OE panel replacement that drops into the factory airbox.
