Built With Zero Fibreglass

Most carbon intakes are a carbon skin laid over a fibreglass structure, which leaves a rough internal surface and adds turbulence exactly where smooth flow is wanted. The MMX kit is constructed in full 3K twill carbon with no fibreglass anywhere in the layup. The internal surface is consequently smoother, the airflow cleaner, and the finish visible on the inside as well as the outside.

Where The Airflow Gains Come From

The gains are the result of three separate changes rather than one. The filters carry 49% more surface area, so the same volume of air passes through the medium at a lower velocity and lower restriction. The intake pipes are larger in section and smoother in transition, averaging a 23% flow increase. The crossover pipe, the tightest restriction in the standard system, gains 38% on its own.

What It Feels Like To Drive

The practical result is sharper throttle response and quicker turbo spool, most noticeable in the mid-range where the S58 does its best work, together with a much more present induction note under load.
