The MMX BMW Billet Oil Filler Cap replaces the factory plastic cap with a CNC-machined billet aluminium item finished in deep gloss black anodising. It covers the widest-used BMW cap thread, fitting B48, B58, N55, S54, S55 and S63 engines that carry OE part number 11 12 8 655 331.
Fitment Is Decided By The Part Number
BMW does not use a single oil cap across its range, so model alone is not enough to determine fitment. The reliable check takes ten seconds: remove the existing cap and read the number moulded into the underside. If it reads 11 12 8 655 331, this is the correct cap. Later B48E and S58 engines use a different thread and are covered by a separate MMX cap.
Machined, Not Covered
The MMX cap is a full replacement, threading onto the cam cover in place of the original with its own seal. Adhesive covers, by contrast, sit on top of the plastic cap they are hiding and are prone to lifting under heat or catching as the cap is removed. A machined cap also gives a far better grip for an oil top-up on a hot engine.

Will it fit an S58 engine?
No. S58 and B48E engines use OE cap 11 12 8 654 637, for which MMX offers a separate billet cap.
Does the cap seal as well as the original?
Yes. It carries its own seal and threads onto the cam cover exactly as the factory cap does.
