BMW 4 Series F32 Parts, Modifications & Accessories

The first BMW 4 Series (F32/F33/F36) launched in 2013 as the F32 Coupe, followed by the F33 Convertible and, from 2014, the five-door F36 Gran Coupe, with production running to 2020. Engines mirror the F30 3 Series: 2.0-litre N47 and B47 diesels in the 420d, the 258 PS N57 3.0-litre in the 430d and 313 PS 435d, N20 and B48 petrols in the 420i, 428i and 430i, and the six-cylinder 435i and 440i. Most were rear-wheel drive with an eight-speed ZF automatic, with xDrive widely available.

Because many owners buy a 4 Series for its looks, suspension is often the first upgrade: KW coilovers or MMX lowering springs close the wheel-arch gap and tighten body control, while Powerflex and HARDRACE bushes refresh worn mounts. The heavier F33 Convertible particularly benefits from firmer, well-matched damping. EBC brake pads, discs and big brake kits suit the range, and Airtec intercoolers help turbo petrols stay consistent.

For petrol models, Ramair and VRSF intakes, sports-cat downpipes, Wagner Tuning intercoolers, Pure Turbos upgrades and Dorch Engineering fuel pumps cover everything from sound improvements to serious builds. Interior upgrades are just as popular, including steering wheels and paddle shifters, MOMO wheels, Tillett seats, and Genuine BMW and M Performance parts.

Every listing shows fitment by body style, engine and drivetrain. Save your 4 Series to My Garage to filter the catalogue, contact our team for advice on combining parts, and book fitting at our Wembley HQ or order with express delivery to the UK and worldwide.

4 Series (F32/F33/F36) FAQs

What are the best first mods for a BMW 4 Series F32?

Most owners start with lowering springs or coilovers to improve the stance and body control, uprated brake pads and discs, and new bushes on higher-mileage cars. On turbo petrol models an intake improves sound and response, while diesel owners tend to focus on chassis, wheels and interior upgrades such as an M Sport steering wheel with paddle shifters. Choose parts listed for your exact body style, as the Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupe differ in places.

Do F30 3 Series parts fit the F32 4 Series?

Many do. The F32, F33 and F36 share engines, much of the braking hardware and many interior parts with the F30 3 Series. However, the 4 Series sits lower and has different suspension settings, and the post-2017 LCI Coupe and Gran Coupe received stiffer suspension. Brake disc sizes can also differ by year and package. Always use body-specific fitment for springs, coilovers and brakes. Every R44 product lists the models it fits, and My Garage filters the range for your car.

Will lowering springs work with adaptive suspension on a 4 Series?

Yes. BMW's adaptive (VDC) dampers adjust damping only, so lowering springs can be fitted while keeping the adaptive function. Fitting coilovers replaces the adaptive dampers, so an electronic cancellation kit is needed to prevent warning lights. The F33 Convertible is heavier than the Coupe, so springs and coilovers are often specified separately for it, and xDrive cars use different parts again.

Is the 420d a good car to modify?

Yes, within reason. Diesel 420d and 430d models respond well to suspension, brake, wheel and interior upgrades, and remaps are popular for extra mid-range torque. Early 420d models (2013–2015) use the N47 engine, which has a known history of timing chain wear, so a documented service history and checking for rear-of-engine rattle are worthwhile. The B47 engine that followed from 2015 is generally regarded as the more robust unit.

What brake upgrades suit the F32 4 Series?

Brakes vary across the range. Four-cylinder cars without the M Sport brake option use smaller single-piston calipers, while the 435i, 440i and M Sport brake packages use larger discs and multi-piston calipers. Performance pads and quality discs are an effective upgrade for road use, and a big brake kit adds heat capacity for track days. Check your disc size and wheel clearance before buying, as larger kits typically need at least 18-inch wheels.

Does modifying a 4 Series affect my insurance?

UK insurers usually require you to declare modifications that change performance or appearance, including remaps, suspension, exhausts and wheels. Failing to do so can invalidate a claim. Specialist insurers for modified cars are often the simplest option. Most F32s are now outside BMW's original warranty, but if you have a used-car or extended warranty, check the terms before changing engine software. Keep invoices and fitting records for every part.
