BMW F87 M2 Competition Parts, Modifications & Accessories
The BMW F87 M2 Competition replaced the original M2 in 2018 and swapped the N55 for the S55B30T0, a 2,979cc twin-turbo straight-six shared with the F80 M3 and F82 M4. It produces 410 PS (405 bhp) and 550 Nm, with M4-derived cooling, a motorsport oil supply and a carbon strut brace. The limited M2 CS of 2020–2021 raised output to 450 PS (444 bhp) and added adaptive M suspension and carbon panels. Both are rear-wheel drive, with a six-speed manual or seven-speed M DCT.
Because it uses the S55, the M2 Competition has a huge tuning base, but owners usually protect the engine first. A pinned crank hub is a widely recommended preventative fit on tuned cars, and the factory plastic charge pipes can split under higher boost, so MMX aluminium pipes are a popular early upgrade. Eventuri carbon intakes, sports-cat downpipes, midpipes and a Remus exhaust sharpen response and sound, while Mosselman supplies further power-focused parts for bigger builds.
The extra weight over the N55 car shows in the brakes. Pagid, Ferodo and EBC Brakes pads and ST Trackparts brake kits suit fast road and track use, while MOTON and Suspension Secrets coilovers and Powerflex bushes refine a chassis that is already sharper than the original M2. MHC PLUS styling and SHFT interior upgrades add the finishing touches, alongside MOTUL oil and Genuine BMW and M Performance parts.
