Wow… what an experience we had at Texas 2K25! We had the quickest BMW of the event - what a thing to be able to say. Our G87 M2 has been on a crazy journey to where it is now. If you’ve been following the car over the last year or so, we hope you enjoyed the content and we’re very thankful for your support.

Now, let’s get into what you’re all here for - the drag times.

Fastest BMW M2 In The World Drag Times

We ran an 8.248 second quarter mile at 164.4mph, making it the quickest BMW competing at the event and currently the fastest G87 M2 in the world.

For comparison, that’s 1.2 seconds faster than a Bugatti Chiron & the same quarter-mile time as the near-2,000hp Rimac Nevera.

The M2 achieved a 0-60 time of just 1.67 seconds, a 60-foot of 1.28 seconds & did the ⅛ mile in only 5.31 seconds. We’re very happy with these results - especially considering the weight of the vehicle.

Oh yes, the weight. Initially, we were aiming to get the car down to just 1500kg (3,306 lbs) to achieve a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio; however, it actually ended up weighing in at 1670kg (3,681 lbs). There was a lot more we could have done to get that number lower such as removing the air jacks, installing carbon fibre doors, replacing the front windows and further stripping the interior. Tom Wrigley, the driver & man responsible for the engine build + xDrive conversion, reckons if we stripped out this extra weight the G87 would have dipped into 7-second territory.

However, this is still a show car at the end of the day - despite its incredible capabilities.

After completing the build at Tom Wrigley Performance last November, we shipped the car to Indianapolis for the PRI show - a really cool industry event. It then went to Vossen for a new set of wheels, Titan Motorsports for testing + tuning & then to some cars & coffee events leading up to Texas 2k25.

Some final revisions we made for Texas included downsizing the turbocharger. We originally had a Precision 8385 next-gen Sportsman which was very big for a drag-racing application. To improve our launch & initial acceleration, we changed to the Precision next-gen R 73.9-85. This turbo has proven itself in the drag-racing world, holding multiple world records for certain classes.

Whilst the 8385 would have given us a much higher trap speed, the launch wouldn’t have been as effective which wasn’t a worthwhile trade-off.

You can see this in the data as our 60-foot was faster than some of the lighter A90 Supras on the day - also thanks to the Suspension Secrets solid bushes and aluminum arms to keep the wheels completely straight under launch.

Tom Wrigley Driving The Fastest BMW M2 In The World

Piloting the M2 was British GT4 racing driver & BMW tuner Tom Wrigley from Tom Wrigley Performance. Tom has worked with us on this project from start to finish and is highly

experienced behind the wheel of seriously high-powered BMWs. It was his knowledge and experience that allowed us to fine-tune the car throughout the event, leading to progressively faster times.

Thankfully, the M2 didn’t experience any serious mechanical issues during the event. This is thanks to using high-quality components from the drivetrain to the engine internals. For example, using GSC Power Division engine hardware - a manufacturer known for reliability. Also, managing heat with components from CSF Radiators & Funk Motorsport allowed us to keep temperatures cool throughout the week. All components are under a lot of stress which is why we did endless research before building the car - only choosing the best brands in the industry. Thankfully, we had the knowledge from Tom Wrigley’s G80 M3 prior to beginning the project.

The only issue we had was a broken rear axle on our second run which we were able to replace promptly and continue pushing for faster times.

We’d like to give a huge shoutout to the other competitors in the X58 class. Some of those Supras are unbelievably fast - aided,of course by lightness, allowing some to dip into the 7’s.

If you haven’t had a chance to see the car already, it will be on display at Bimmer Invasion in West Palm Beach on the 5th of April. She’ll also be at MPACT Pocono Raceway on August 16th, FL2K in October and SEMA at the end of the year!

Thank you for following us on this journey - stay tuned for more exciting projects!

Oh, also… we know many of you will be wanting to know how much power the M2 made in the end. Unfortunately, we don’t have a printout to show you but we’ll make sure to get the car back on the dyno very soon!
