As 2025 comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on what has been an unforgettable year for everyone at R44 Performance. From international travel and landmark vehicle builds to community events and record-breaking growth, this year has shaped who we are and where we’re going next. None of it happened overnight, and none of it happened alone.
Here’s a month-by-month look at some of the defining moments of our year.
January – Japan & Tokyo Auto Salon
Japan has developed a strong appreciation for European performance cars in recent years, and as a growing market for BMW, Porsche and more, it was important for us to experience this first-hand. As BMW specialists, travelling to Japan allowed us to immerse ourselves in its unique car culture, build meaningful relationships, and better understand a market that continues to influence the global automotive scene.
There was no better place to do this than Tokyo Auto Salon 2025 – a world-class event that blends craftsmanship, innovation and passion in a way few shows can.
February – BMW G90 M5 Reveal & First Production Carbon Fibre Body Kit
February marked a major milestone with the reveal of our modified BMW G90 M5 and the launch of the first production carbon fibre body kit available to buy.
Finished in Carbon Black with a contrasting interior, the car debuted with a full MHC LDN package including the SP90 front splitter, Performance-style side skirts, rear diffuser and ducktail spoiler, alongside carbon fibre mirror caps and shark fin antenna cover. Lowered on AST development springs with Bimecc wheel spacers, this build immediately positioned R44 as the go-to destination for G90 M5 modifications.
Having the first products ready-to-go on the shelf gave the business a huge boost and set the tone for the year ahead.
March – Texas 2K25 & Our Fastest BMW to Date
March took us stateside, where we ran the fastest BMW times at Texas 2K25 with our 1,500 horsepower BMW G82 M2.
Converted to xDrive, running a fully forged engine and gearbox, and powered by a Precision next-generation sportsman single turbo, the car is cooled by CSF and supported by a full roll cage, parachute, custom fuel system and AST air jacks. Built by Tom Wrigley Performance and driven by Tom Wrigley himself, this project was over a year in the making.
More than just numbers, this car helped accelerate our growth in the USA and introduced us to an incredible community of people and brands that we’re proud to work alongside.
April – Single Turbo G80 M3 xDrive
In April, we pushed things further by converting our 1,000bhp Individual Mexico Blue BMW G80 M3 xDrive to a single turbo setup.
Previously running PURE Stage 2+ hybrid turbos, the car had already gained widespread exposure through outlets like AutoTrader and Carwow. The switch to a Precision 6870 turbo using the R44 x Tom Wrigley Performance single turbo kit marked the next evolution of the build and kept things moving forward.
May – Track Titans & Brands Hatch Community Day
May saw the launch of Track Titans and our first community track day at Brands Hatch.
The variety of cars and people made the day special – from a standard daily-driven G87 M2 to fully prepared track builds, spanning G, F and even E Series models. Some attendees were experiencing their first proper track session, while others were regulars, but the atmosphere remained relaxed, respectful and genuinely welcoming. Moments like borrowing trousers to satisfy marshals summed up the spirit perfectly.
June – Our First G99 M5 Touring Build
June brought something truly special as we modified our first G99 M5 Touring.
Henco travelled all the way from the Netherlands for the R44 treatment, and his car received a full MHC LDN SP90 front splitter, SooQoo side skirts and 5-piece rear diffuser, Vossen HF-7 hybrid forged wheels, Akrapovic exhaust system, CarbonBay engine cover and more. It was a privilege to work on such a car and a reminder of how far our reach has grown.
July – Showcased at Turn14 HQ
In July, our G87 M2 drag car was showcased at Turn14’s headquarters in the USA.
Being displayed to every visitor through their doors was a huge honour and an opportunity to show the industry who we are and what drives us. For a company built on passion and detail, this moment meant a great deal.
August – BMW G90 M5 Version 2
August saw the reveal of version two of our BMW G90 M5 – and this time, we went bold.
Wrapped in satin silver, sitting on custom gloss silver 22” Vossen HF-9 hybrid forged wheels, and featuring a SooQoo SQ-A carbon fibre rear diffuser, R44 gloss exhaust tips, a development Scorpion mid-section (now available), gold-finished CSF charge cooler inlet manifolds, and red engine bay accents from Downstar Inc. and Goldenwrench Supply Co.
This build divided opinion – some loved it, others didn’t – but it got people talking, and we enjoyed every step of building it.
September – Bimmer Invasion Los Angeles
September took us to Bimmer Invasion Los Angeles with our G87 M2 drag car.
Thousands of BMW enthusiasts, packed halls, and an incredible range of builds made this one of the biggest BMW events LA has ever seen. Being part of it was a privilege and reinforced just how global the BMW community continues to be.
October – Nürburgring Road Trip in the G81 M3 Touring
October saw us return to the Nürburgring in our refreshed G81 M3 Touring, now set up as the ultimate daily driver.
Back on stock twin turbos after time on a single turbo setup, the car featured KW V3 coilovers, MMX turbo inlets, a Pipercross AirMax intake, H&R anti-roll bars, an adjustable handling package, revised geometry by GeoByLuke and a flex-fuel kit. Misha Charoudin took the car out for a lap, with a video coming soon.
We did have a small off, but it quickly turned into a viral moment, which made us feel a bit better about the broken front splitter and wheels full of grass.
November – Our Biggest Black Friday Ever
November 2025 became our strongest month in company history.
The team worked tirelessly to deliver the best deals, service and overall experience we could. Thanks to this success, we’re now reinvesting heavily into software, purchasing processes, inventory and product development. Our goal is simple: to become the leading BMW parts specialist with the best shopping experience in the industry.
December – Christmas Shenanigans & New Builds
We wrapped up the year with some festive fun, using our E90 M3 to transport the showroom Christmas tree – a nod back to doing the same with our G81 M3 Touring in 2023.
December also saw us begin work on Livinglifefast’s new G80 M3 CS, with tasteful upgrades and content coming very soon.
