In 2023, R44 Performance modified 5 brand-new BMW G87 M2s for the Essen Motor Show in Germany. Fast forward to 2024, we found 5 modified BMW G90 M5s - a rare sight with the cars being so new.
With the first G90 M5 deliveries taking place less than a month ago, there aren't many aftermarket modifications available yet. You can spec the OEM M Performance kit as these cars did however, tuning, handling, exhaust and other styling upgrades aren't readily available.
Despite that, we found 5 brilliantly modified examples with aftermarket wheels and modified suspension as well as some really unique colours. These M5s will give you an insight into how awesome these cars can look.
1. H&R's G90 M5 in Marina Bay Blue
We're starting off strong with H&R's G90 M5 finished in what will likely be one of the most popular colours: Marina Bay Blue. Running the complete OEM M Performance carbon fibre body kit, this M5 looks even more aggressive - especially with the car sitting lower than standard.
H&R showcased its new height-adjustable spring kit which allows a 25-35mm drop at the front and a 10-20mm drop at the rear.
To complete the look, H&R collaborated with Yido Performance Wheels with a beautiful set of 10-spoke Forged+R RS.2 alloys.
2. Aulitsky Tuning's G90 M5 in Satin Black
Now THIS is the colour for a G90 M5! If you're unsure on how the new G90 platform looks, take a look at this example and tell us it doesn't look mean. This is giving us some inspiration for the R44 Performance G90 M5 landing soon!
3. KW Automotive's G90 M5 in Lime Green
What a bold wrap! On the KW stand, we found this striking G90 M5 owned by @liw89m equipped with KW V4 coilovers and BBS CI-R alloy wheels!
With the new M5 being so heavy, we're excited to see how aftermarket suspension manufacturers like KW can keep it all in check.
4. Yido Performance Wheels' G90 M5 in Carbon Black
This Carbon Black G90 looked absolutely gorgeous under the showroom lights! Yido Performance Wheels smashed it again with their brand new M5 equipped with the OEM M Performance kit.
Similar to H&R's G90, this M5 is running Yido's 10-spoke Forged+R RS.2 but finished in silver.
5. Radi8 Wheels' G90 M5 In Carbon Black
Carbon Black seems to be a popular colour for the new M5! Last but not least, we have the Radi8 Wheels G90 M5 fitted with the all-new R802-1 alloy wheels - simply stunning!
You may notice there were no G99 M5 Tourings at the show. Deliveries for the estates are expected early 2025 and we know they will be incredibly popular.
