The MMX BMW G87 M2 Underbody Chassis Brace is a direct replacement for the factory brace, machined from billet 6061-T6 aluminium. It provides an additional 15mm of exhaust clearance while maintaining the original ground clearance, and adds chassis stiffness at the same time.
The Clearance Problem It Solves
Fitting an aftermarket exhaust system to a G87 M2 frequently runs into the factory underbody brace, which sits directly in the path of larger diameter pipework. The usual workarounds are to modify the brace, which compromises it, or to remove it entirely, which costs chassis rigidity. The MMX brace is redesigned around the problem, freeing 15mm of clearance without dropping any lower than the original.
Stiffness As Well As Clearance
Because the brace is machined from billet 6061-T6 rather than pressed from steel, MMX was able to add material where load is carried and remove it where it is not. The result is a component that is stiffer than the item it replaces, tightening up the platform and improving how the chassis responds to steering and load transfer.
Direct Fit
The brace bolts to the standard mounting points with no cutting, drilling or modification required. It suits road and track use equally, and is a sensible fit for any G87 running or planning a performance exhaust.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this needed on a car with a standard exhaust?
The clearance is most useful with an aftermarket system, but the additional chassis stiffness benefits any G87.
Does the car sit any lower?
No. Ground clearance is unchanged – the extra 15mm is created around the exhaust path rather than by dropping the brace.
