The MMX B48A20T1 Silicone Intake Hose is engineered for the highest-output version of BMW's B48 engine, as fitted to the BMW M135i and the MINI JCW GP3. It replaces the factory plastic bellows pipe between the airbox and intake backpipe with a reinforced silicone hose, smoothing the airflow into the turbocharger.
Why The Factory Bellows Costs Airflow
The standard pipe is a concertina-shaped plastic bellows, a shape chosen for packaging and cost rather than flow. Every fold is a small disruption to the air travelling to the turbocharger, and collectively they add measurable turbulence at exactly the point where smooth, undisturbed flow matters most. A smooth-bore silicone hose removes those steps entirely.
Sound And Finish
Two secondary benefits come with it. The induction note becomes noticeably crisper under load, since the silicone transmits intake sound differently to the flexible plastic original. And the engine bay looks considerably better for it: a moulded silicone hose is one of the tidier visual upgrades available on a B48 car.
