BUILD CONCEPT:

A BMW PUSHED TO ITS LIMITS

Introducing R44 Performance's biggest ever marketing campaign, spanning over 2 years, multiple continents & countless events. The BMW G87 M2 One:1 utilises the best modern European tuning platform and industry-leading aftermarket innovation to create one of the most technologically-advanced, competition-spec drag racing builds with a showcar aura.

With a perfect 1:1 power-to-weight ratio, the project will showcase the best the aftermarket industry has to offer to millions of people worldwide and will provide an abundance of engaging digital content.

BUILD CONCEPT GOALS

  • Utilise the aftermarket industry's finest components to create a serious competition drag car with true motorsport pedigree.
  • Create a jaw-dropping showcar to capture the attention of the European enthusiast communities worldwide.
  • Showcase the pinnacle of the BMW aftermarket industry by building a rolling catalogue of the best modifications from a variety of brand partners.

Phase #1 - Complete ✅

The Perfect Base

The R44 Performance BMW G87 M2 in Papaya Orange provided the perfect foundation for a high-power dragster. With its highly tuneable S58 engine and already-established global online presence, there was no better candidate for the job.

Phase #2 - Complete ✅

xDrive Conversion

In order to transfer 1500+ bhp to the road effectively, all four wheels would need to be driven. The talented engineers at Tom Wrigley Performance swapped in an OEM xDrive setup, as seen on the G80 M3 and G82 M4 - a world's first.

Phase #3 - In Progress

Strip Down & Engine Build

To achieve the optimal 1:1 power-to-weight ratio, the interior was stripped to make way for the necessary safety systems. The 3.0 S58 engine and ZF transmission were overhauled with the aftermarket industry's finest forged hardware throughout - pushing the car's capabilities up to 2,000 bhp.

Phase #4

Performance-Enhancing Hardware

Before launching the M2 down the strip, we removed all performance-limiting OEM components in favour of overengineered competition-spec upgrades. Race-specified bakes and suspension complete the package.

Phase #5

The Look

In order to grab the world's attention, the R44 G87 M2 One:1 is given a Blackfish livery featuring all the incredible brand sponsor logos to be showcased at countless shows across the globe, including racing on the main stage at Texas 2K25. Combined with aerodynamic components made from lightweight carbon composite, the 1:1 will be a G87 like no other.
